The Cotswolds in a Day

While in Kennebunkport a few weekends ago, my mom and I decided to head out to the beach at low-tide one morning in search of treasures. A nor’easter had just come through the day before, and they always say that after a storm is a good time for beach combing. The beach was loaded, and we found shells, driftwood, piles of seaweed everywhere, and a blue lobster claw (don’t worry, we didn’t bring the claw or seaweed home, lol). It might not have been buried pirate treasure, but we certainly found some nautical gold that morning!

The Botanic Garden of Smith College

Last week I headed down to Northampton, MA to visit the Lyman Conservatory at Smith College. It’s core greenhouse dates back to 1895, and it is one of the few remaining plant conservatories in the US that was built in the nineteenth century.

Cape Neddick Light

Guys, I think I’ve discovered my favorite new Maine lighthouse (yes, I have a list, don’t judge. haha!): The Cape Neddick Nubble Light in York! The funny thing is that York is one of the closest towns to NH, and I pass by it all the time on my way up the Maine coast, and the lighthouse is famous, yet I haven’t ever stopped to see it till now! On a recent weekend trip to Maine, I made visiting it a priority, since the photos I’ve seen always make it look so whimsical and old fashioned.

Best Easter Dresses

Is everyone ready for Easter? I always feel like it isn’t quite spring until Easter happens. There is something about getting dressed in a pretty spring dress for church service, daffodils and tulips in pitchers, and colored eggs on the table that welcomes spring in officially.

Peaceful Morning Skate

Here I am, back on my ice skates again. This winter I am attempting to ice skate at least once a week, if I can! I haven’t done much skating since I was a kid, and its been wonderful getting back in the saddle on a more consistent basis. I have skated on both a frozen pond and an indoor rink, and I have found I prefer the rink for the ice, but the pond for the views. The frozen pond is a bit bumpy and cracked, which can make the skating a bit unpredictable, but the fact that you have space, the lovely view of the pine trees, and the fresh air, makes it so much better than skating in an man-made rink. I recommend nature over man-made any day!
