Christmastime in the Woods

I’ve always been in love with Christmastime, it’s the best, coziest, jolliest time of the year! I love wrapping gifts for hours while Christmas music is playing softly. Or baking cookies as the snow falls outside. There is something even cozier about this time of the year when you live in the country, I think. It’s magical driving through the back roads at dusk and peering at all the candlelit houses nestled back in the trees.

Coats are the Best Accessory

“Coats are the best accessory” is a phrase I live by. I think that I can truly call myself completely “coat obsessed”. They set a tone for an outfit, a well-picked coat stands out in a crowd, it makes you look polished and prepared. You might be wearing no more than jeans, a t-shirt, and flats…but just throwing the right wool coat over it can take the look from casual to smart and sophisticated. This is why I love the humble coat.

Central Park in Fall

On Monday I spent the afternoon in NYC. My mom and I went to see the Downton Abbey Exhibition.

It was a lovely exhibit with all sorts of costumes and sets, including a few of my favorite day outfits that Lady Mary wears in season 5 and 6. It was so interesting to see which dresses were actually old and which were made for the show. I had so much fun, and I encourage any Downton fan that lives near the city to check it out!

The Great Cabin Gift Guide

I’ve decided to theme my gift guides this year based off of New England States/Regions, taking into consideration the many different landscapes and styles seen throughout this part of the country. The Great Cabin Gift Guide is a nod to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where the very best of them don flannels every day and muck about in duck boots and wellies, chopping wood and keeping their tidy cabin functional and cozy all through the winter.
