In the New Englander’s closet, there is no better summer staple than the nautical stripes. They are classic, chic, simple, a look that transcends time. Audrey and Jackie wore them, Cary Grant and James Dean wore them…that’s pretty good company to be keeping!
I was recently in Chatham (see post here) and I stopped by Jack Wills for a quick look and a peek, and ended up falling in love with this dress! I tried it on, fell head-over-heels, and a wee bit of hemming and hawing later, I made the plunge. (FYI, the dress is 40% off right now!)
For a while now I have been on the hunt for the “perfect” striped top, and for some reason I can’t seem to find it this year. There are lots of great striped sweaters out there for summer, but for tops I have not yet been captivated… One of the big reasons I was drawn to this dress is that it was just a longer version of that “perfect” top I have in my mind. It had to come home with me…
Dress: Jack Wills (40% off) / Bag: Unknown (similar here)
Shoes: Superga (right now 35% off) / Scarf: Old L. L. Bean
Sunglasses: (I’ll be honest, I found them at Saks off 5th, and they didn’t say the brand anywhere, not even the tag, but they were so cute, I couldn’t resist the retro cat eye style!) (also similar style here)
