It has been perfectly fall-like around here lately! Pumpkins decorate the house, leaves are starting to turn for reals, and orchards up and down the state are ready for apple picking! My family and I went to Gould Hill Farm in Contoocook, NH because we heard they make killer cider doughnuts on the weekends. We were not at all disappointing. The doughnuts were small, so we grabbed two dozen, as well as some hot apple cider.
Everyone from NH seemed to be there to partake, and it was a very happy atmosphere all around. The doughnuts were being made fresh, right in front of you, and there were all kinds of apple products everywhere you turned. We did not end up picking any apples, as the day was rather damp and rainy, so that pleasure will be on hold for another day, but in the meantime…another doughnut, please!
