I’m veering off course a little bit here to bring you another installment of my travel series. I still have a few days from our U.K. trip back last springtime left to show you, and this post is all about Chatsworth House.
If you have ever watched Pride and Prejudice (2005) you will recognize the house as the beautiful Pemberley. It was nothing short of spectacular. Inside there was a temporary fashion exhibit throughout the house, so unfortunately I couldn’t get any really good photos of the dark interior as all windows were covered to add to the atmosphere. However the grounds of Chatsworth were my favorite sight of the day. There were daffodils everywhere, and while the whole park was well manicured and very neat, everything has been created in a very natural style, almost as though the house was just dropped into the beautiful English countryside. There were so many places to walk and explore, and there were many sheep fields and even a deer park. My favorite was the hillside full of daffodils, and the Emperor Fountain that is powered by gravity and water pressure alone!
If you are ever in that area of England, take the day to visit Chatsworth, there is so much to do and see, and so much park to stroll in. It will blow your mind!
