If you ever find yourself in Camden, Maine, you will be charmed to death, for sure! The town is quaint, nautical, with an adorable downtown full of shopping and food, and a breathtaking harbor where you can sit and watch the boats. BUT! If you just jump in the car and travel five minutes north to Mount Battie, you can see this amazing town from a whole different perspective.
You can hike or drive up the mountain (it take two minutes by car), and there are several lookout posts, including an old stone watch tower you can go up in for a better view! I recommend going just as the sun is starting to set…it’s more magical that way, especially in the Fall when the trees light up in color! The ocean is so blue, and peppered with islands, and you have a lovely view of the harbor down in Camden. There is usually a sailboat or two on the horizon. I highly recommend driving up if ever you are in the area.
