Boston is one of my favorite cities. And while it is gorgeous at any time of the year, there is something especially magical about it when there is snow blanketing the ground. It is nice to stroll through the common and public garden while the squirrels dart about the white stuff, and people are skating on the ice rink just below the state house.
If you ever have any plans to visit Boston, be sure to put Beacon Hill on the list. There is a lot of shopping, eating, and bustling on Charles Street at the base of the hill, but I prefer walking up the quiet residential streets. It is so peaceful, with only dog walkers and locals about, and every door is a picture! If you like the settings of the Thomas Crown Affair (original, mind you), you might recognize some places such as Acorn and Mt. Vernon Street.
My favorite places are Louisburg Square, Rouvalis Flowers, Chestnut Street, and Acorn Street. If you find yourself in Beacon Hill, be sure to slow down, and take it all in. I spent more than an hour just wandering the streets the other day, and I came away loving the area even more than before! So charming!
